Tansen Top Sewing Pattern Details
Pattern Description
The Tansen top is a fitted round-neck jersey top with three sleeve designs. A shirred detail gathers a full sleeve into a fitted sleeve head on all views.
Supplies
In order to sew the pattern, you will require the following materials:
Fabric (see recommended types below).
Matching thread
Shirring thread
10mm wide elastic (for View A only)
Fabric Recommendations
For all variations, use a light- to medium-weight stretch knit fabric, such as cotton jersey or viscose jersey with four way stretch that stretches widthways about 40%, or 30% crossways and that pings back down to size after stretching.
Please refer to the size chart and fabric requirement chart for fabric lengths required for each pattern size.
View A: Full length sleeve with elasticated cuff

What’s in a name?
The Tansen Top: Inspired by the Himalayas
We believe the names of our patterns should hold meaning, and the Tansen Top is no exception. This design is lovingly named after Tansen, a small, picturesque village nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal.
For our founder, Izzy, Tansen is more than just a name – it's a collection of vivid and happy childhood memories. As a young girl, Nepal was home, and the beauty and tranquility of Tansen left an indelible mark. The gentle pace of life, the stunning mountain views, and the warmth of the community are all woven into the fabric of these memories.
Izzy wanted to infuse the Tansen Top with a little bit of that same feeling – a sense of ease, beauty, and quiet joy. The flowing sleeves and comfortable silhouette are designed to create a garment that brings you comfort and a touch of everyday beauty, reminiscent of the peaceful charm of Tansen.
