IN PERSON: RETREATS

We host relaxing sewing retreats in Sheffield throughout the year. These provide a fantastic opportunity to invest quality time and attention into your creative projects away from the busyness of life. We’d love to welcome you along to enjoy a restful weekend of sewing with support from qualified instructors for whatever project you wish to bring along. There is also the option to stay overnight and enjoy a true sewing escape with dinner, bed and breakfast packages available.

To ensure a relaxing and peaceful space for all, places are limited. So please book your place quickly to avoid disappointment; see below for our upcoming dates.

Retreat Details

  • Bring your own sewing project(s) and receive expert guidance and advice from Izzy who will be on hand to help for the whole weekend.

    Around two weeks prior to the retreat all guests will have a 20 minute video call with Izzy to discuss what project(s) you are thinking of bringing so she can prepare for your time together.

    There will be also be two overlockers, irons and a cutting space available for use.

    We want you to feel comfortable while sewing so we encourage you to bring your own sewing machine. However, if you would prefer to use one of our sewing machines (Janome M100QDC) then please let us know on your booking form.

  • Guests will receive:

    Pastries on arrival and snacks throughout each day.

    Unlimited tea and coffee throughout each day from the new Conference Cafe (located just next to the sewing room).

    A two course cold buffet lunch each day.

    You can also choose to enjoy your coffee breaks outside in the idyllic country setting within 12 acres of beautiful parkland.

  • For those that want to make the most of all that this beautiful hotel has to offer, there is also the option to stay over on the Saturday night.

    This includes access to all of the hotel’s facilities including the spa, gym and pool as well as a three-course evening meal in the hotel’s Lakeview Restaurant and breakfast in the morning before the second day of sewing begins. Just let us know on your booking form if you would like to include this optional extra.

  • Venue: Kenwood Hall Hotel and Spa, Kenwood Road, Sheffield, S7 1NQ

  • Sewing times: Saturday 10:00-5:00pm & Sunday 9:30-4:30pm

  • Optional overnight stay on Saturday

There is free parking available on-site and the venue is fully accessible.

All guests will also receive a complimentary paper copy of one of our own sewing patterns.

Plus, if you require any fabric or sewing supplies during the retreat, either of the fabulous Annie’s or Patchwork Gardens fabric shops are only a short 15 minute walk away on Abbeydale Road.
