CORPORATE EVENTS

Sewing is a fantastic activity for bringing people together. Whether it’s a simple bag / accessory or a more complex clothing project, the process of designing, cutting and making things provides an excellent environment for discussion, decision making, learning and relationship building. We can provide short workshops for in-house social events, team-building days, or perhaps provide a novel way to showcase new products & material to clients.

CASE STUDY

Client: Altro Ltd

  • An international manufacturer of high-quality flooring and wall cladding.

Brief: To provide a sociable evening event to invite 20 interior designers to for Altro to showcase a new flooring product range.

Proposal: We worked with Altro to integrate a new flooring product into a bespoke and individually customisable bag design that participants could make in pairs during the session. This enabled the participants to handle and work with Altro’s products in novel ways, and also provided an ongoing reminder of the product through its integration into the end product. A peer-learning approach was to be encouraged to facilitate discussion and make new connections. Given the participants were all designers, we also sourced a range of sustainable fabrics that they could choose to mix and match to ensure each bag was unique.

We provided all of the sewing machines, tools, fabric, hardware and sewing instructors for the event. We also designed and printed a bespoke and Altro branded instruction manual for the session that participants could take away with them so that they could make up alternative versions of the bag at home.
